MartynH, Snagging.org member, has just started a petition urging the Prime Minister to ensure that new house purchasers get more consumer protection. The timing couldn't be more appropriate as exactly three year ago the Barker Review of Housing Supply was published and the housebuilding industry was given three years to get its house in order in terms of customer satisfaction and unfair contractual terms. It is clear that they have failed and legislation needs to be improved. As a minimum the Office of Fair Trading should conduct a wide ranging review of the housebuilding market.
