The Northcott brick used is faulty and spalling and cracking and falling off the chimneys and walls. All agree there is a fault except Zurich. They have repaired two of our neighbours drives same fault .We have spent in excess of £2000 on building surveys and solicitors. We now have to go to court.Rebuild cost £15000 plus. Head of construction at Bloors and NHBC and brick company have stated bricks should not crumble when only a few years old. This frost in winter has finished the job now
Help has anyone been in a similar mess! do not insure anything with Zurich and get your bricks tested by a materials expert before you spend half a million on a house built of crumbling Northcott brick.

We moved into a new Bloor Home in June 2000 It had a 10yr Zurich buildings defect policy.with Zurich. We have been fighting for two years to get our chimneys and walls rebuilt and the drive relaid.
