New Homes in the News
House Beutiful have launched a campaign to improve the quality of new homes in the UK because according to the Office of Fair Trading almost one in four people who buy a newly built home complain of serious quality problems and snagging issues.

The Watchdog team investigated the National House-Building Council (NHBC) yet again on 21 April 2008. It seems that the NHBC or some builder is on televsion every six months or so without fail. Hopefully, the Office of Fair Trading will make recommendations in the summer that will improve consumer rights. I bet Imtiaz Farookhi the NHBC's CEO is quielty hoping for this so he can stop getting hammered on national TV.

A COUPLE who moved in to their dream home at Portishead's Port Marine development in December are fed up with waiting for a list of problems in their house to be corrected.
Helen Ping and her partner Brett George moved from Bristol in to their Newfoundland Way property on December 21.

A Basingstoke couple say their new home is turning out to be less than a dream.
Richard Jones and Natasha Lewis moved into a new two-bedroomed house built by Persimmon Homes, off Old Kempshott Lane, last December. Since then, they say many of their complaints about the property have been left unresolved.
The latest problem occurred last Tuesday night when a tile from the roof fell onto Mr Jones' black Lexus IS200 car, denting the roof, scratching the windscreen and smashing the sunroof - scattering fragments inside and outside the car.
