 Rating:  - I'll hand in the coursework on monday....This book enlightened me of the complexity of the various Russian Revolutions. It gave me incredible insight into the making of the country that is now fully integrated with the rest of the world; and is a major player, in the deep and sectretive world that is politics. It takes the reader through every step of the history, giving helpful hints along the way and giving badly needed exam practise to the grateful student (go sir! keep going...they'll only improve...rather like my essay's!) Rating: - Buy it!This excellent book is full of insights and ideas that make Russian history seem approachable. The author has discovered a way of presenting a textbook in language that lights up a formidably complicated period. Despite working within the strictures of the academic syllabus, Jonathan White finds time and space to add details and allusions to bring life to his narrative. He uses new sources, and adds helpful internet links to give fresh opportunities to the interested student. Rating:  - Russian History without TearsThis is the best one volume introduction to the Russian Revolution that I know,. Mr White has an engaging style, and a comprehensive grasp of his subject, along with many insighful comments, providing an easy way for school pupils to cover the period, and for the older to brush up.
