![]() Rating: - Great book!I passed my network plus first time, using this book along with the exam cram one. This book is a huge tome!! However, half of it is pictures and diagrams so don't let that put you off. It is written in a very witty conversational style which is brilliant if you are new to IT (as I was). A lot of the network plus books are very dry, but I found Mike's style made very complex topics come to life. I was really struggling to get me head round the OSI model until I read MIke's explanation which was both very funny and very graphic! For example, he does a whole spiel about a gathering of relatives in a pub to explain the session layer! However, I completely "got" the OSI after reading this book, and once you get that, you are halfway to getting the network plus qualification as everything else relates to it. If you are a seasoned IT professional then this resource may be a bit too wordy and fuzzy for you. HOwever, if you are embarking on the network plus with limited IT experience, then it will make the subject come alive. Rating: - Big book, lots of contentGood, interesting and well written book with everything you need to get though the exam. Lots of content and it would make a pretty good reference book if needed on the subjects it covers. I've worked in IT / Networking for years and only took the exam to begin the road to MCSA and beyond, yet I still found this book interesting with a few things I hadn't come across before. Rating: - Great! This book is great. I passed my N+ first time. I found it to be much easier to read and understand than most of the other N+ Study guides out there!
