![]() Rating: - GorgeousI agree with the positive comments so far. I am fairly new to knitting and have managed to develop so much more having used this book. The patterns are well written with good explanations and a good guide to some processes. Starting with baby-sized projects is a great way to learn a technique without being intimidated by a large project. Quite possibly a book that a mother and daughter could sit down with and go through! Some gorgeous little items here, items to suit any taste as they are simple enough to follow and also easy enough to adapt and take forward. Highly recommended. Rating: - Baby Knits for BeginnersThis is a lovely book for people who are new to knitting - like me. The patterns are very basic to begin with to get your confidence up, then new stitches are introduced gradually. The patterns are quite quick to make so you don't get disheartened, and the stitch demonstrations are in general quite easy to follow, though I did have to go to the internet to clarify one. The photos in the book are lovely and inspire you to get knitting! Some of the wools/colours she recommends don't seem to be stocked at major dept stores (?or made) anymore, but using alternate makes seems to work out ok. Rating: - Good but basic.I got bored with the moss stitch! Great book if you are just learning to knit. Baby shoe pattern is sweet and there are some nice little jackets. Rating: - Excellent book for beginnersI only took up knitting five months ago, when all my friends suddenly started having babies! Although I'd learnt the basics as a child, I've re-learned everything from books, and this is definitely one of the best that I own - the patterns are clear and easy to follow, and the 'how to' section is also very helpful. It's also nice to see patterns for more modern baby clothes, and so beautifully photographed, too. Rating: - Superb Book for beginnersI love anything by Debbie Bliss and yet again she fails to disappoint. As a self taught knitter this book would be particularly good for complete beginners as the projects start small and get progressively more complex. The finished articles are beautiful and it serves as a useful reference book when looking at other things.
