![]() Rating: - Good stuffFirstly, a few moans. For a book that has the words "International Student Edition" emblazoned on the top of it, this is a remarkably non-international book. The examples seem to use 110V/60Hz exclusively, and SI units are not used. On top of that, the units used in the worked examples quite frequently jump around, e.g., start in V, answer given in mV. My only other real complaint is the shear weight of the book. Not easy to hold in one hand whilst drinking a beverage. Since I bought the book to brush up on my electronics, I can't fault the technical content. Rating: - Great!!!This book is not recommended for begginers. It has an in-depth analysis of most of subjects that one can encounter in his undergraduate courses in Microelectronics, thus making it a proper choice for anyone that is having the will to read hard, but gain a lot!!! Rating: - Overall, a good bookThis book is unusual, in that parts of it are very well explained and other parts are not so well explained! The examples are a bit on the scarce side, and answers to in-chapter exercises are very brief. This is not helpful to the beginner, especially in the foundation chapters. The explanations of theory, however, are very readable (well as readable as electronics gets), and well described. So in conclusion -- a good book, especially if you know some of the basics of electronics already. Rating: - Engineering Council Examination recommended reading listRecommended reading for the Engineering Council Part 1 Examination Subject 503, Engineering Science Rating: - Not Worth the Paper it's Printed OnThis is probably one of the poorest text's out there on electronics, mainly because the examples are way too simple for the complexity of the subject. If you can get another text, you'd be much better off Try searching the Internet for "Microelectronic Circuits (Oxford Series in Electrical & Computer Engineering)" or Ebay for "Microelectronic Circuits (Oxford Series in Electrical & Computer Engineering)".
