![]() Rating: - Kickstart with Langford, for better PhotographyThis is a very thorough guide for beginners and anyone wishing to improve their photography. It is very well illustrated and is in an easy format that makes the various topics interesting and informative. I use it for reference for our disabled photography group. It gives a good foundation in traditional/digital photography and eliminates un-necessary jargon. It is very pleasing to get books that fulfill your learning curve and a bit more besides. I would certainly recommend this book for anyone who wishes to have a good foundation in photography, also it gives you a taster of the traditional and digital darkroom techniques. Authors are now adapting to easy step by step information, and improving the format and illustration, making topics come alive. This book certainly does that. Rating: - Scott Congdon's ReviewScott Congdon Writer/Photographer Langford's Starting Photography - The guide to great images with digital or film By Michael Langford & Philip Andrews If ever there was a reference book that should be integrated into the art colleges of the world, then this should be the one. This highly informative book breaks down photographic theories in both digital and film areas into easy to follow chapters and steps. The author's familiar colour coordinated chapters, segment the book into appropriate photographic theories. Whether you want to learn the traditional ways of film photography or break into the digital world, this book covers the entire gamut of the photographic industry. Unlike other reference books, this contains a plethora of visual and illustrative examples which is extremely effective in getting a lot of the photographic concepts across. If anyone were to take the reins of the Langford reference collection, Philip Andrews is definitely the ideal author.
