![]() Rating: - A booring book.I read this book in the 6th grade cause it was assigned for a book report. It is not a good book at all. If you are thinking of buying it I would reconsider. Rating: - It was a great book to readHi im in fifth grade and read the Newbery book The Door in the Wall because it talks about how a kid named Robin got ill and couldn't walk. He could only use crutches and getting on someones back for transpertation. It is about a kid who gets ill and can't walk. He even saves a castle full of people. I would recommend this book to fifth and sixth graders because it is a little bit hard to read. Rating: - Quite possibly the worst book I have ever readWe had to read this book for school, and I was actually looking forward to it. I thought I would like it--I'm interested in that period of history, and I've enjoyed books with similar subject matter. Boy, was I mistaken. This book totally failed to capture my interest, and I felt like the author was more interested in sending some heart-warming message about growing up to us insecure pre-teens out there than writing something with characters we could feel for and a plot that wouldn't put us to sleep. It seemed too cute in a distant, educational-programming sort of way. It was like the author had no clue how to make modern readers identify with her story. I'm not being so narrow-minded as to say that I think modern teens could never be interested in a story about a crippled boy from the dark ages--my point is that it had the potential to be a darn good book, but it somehow was carried out all wrong. As a person who doesn't mind being forced to read in school and expected to enjoy this book, I was quite disappointed. Rating: - A challenge for ChaucerThis is a terrific book. I think it has a terrific plot and is very educational about the middle ages. I enjoy some of the adventure and adore the iluistrations.I especially like how Robin overcomes his handicap.
