The historical background is great and I have really enjoyed that part. The story between Aimery and Madelaine starts in a wonderful way, however it turns terribly boring. It is the 'typical' story of misundertandings, lack of trust and non-communication that complicates the relationship. The situation is not cleared until the last few pages so the characters go for interesting to dull and do not develop at all. A pity really, the story had great potencial but its only saving grace is the mentioned historical facts.
