Bought for 20p from a charity shop locally, this has been a very interesting and enjoyable book. I am not a climber or a walker but Mike made the subject very accessible and I must say I admired his approach - preferring to connect with the local people on their terms, as a visitor not as a tourist. The book tells us much about the Himalaya region, our effect on the environs and our need to go carefully to preserve this fabulous and awe inspiring place for generations to come.

I fully recommend you to buy this book!
