![]() Rating: - A visual feast! This book is a delight for any chandelier enthusiast. It is packed with spectacular chandeliers, photographed in sumptuous, atmospheric settings. Hilliard writes about the history of chandeliers, from early examples which hung in churches and houses of the wealthy, to the most modern, avant garde and eccentric ones. The chandeliers range from the most extravagant and glittering creations in brass, glass and porcelain, to a 19th century Czechoslovakian example made from human bones and skulls. Some are made from lead crystal or Venetian glass and others are made from materials such as Japanese paper, perspex rods, or paper. There are chandeliers made from components such as glass teacups, or blue mineral water bottles. Hilliard has included something to appeal to everyone! At the back of the book, there is information on cleaning and caring for chandeliers. There is also an identification chart which shows a large variety of chandelier drops, along with their names. This is an expensive book - but well worth the money! Try searching the Internet for "Chandeliers" or Ebay for "Chandeliers". You might also be interested in the following great products:
