![]() Rating: - worth buying but not fully researched or trueThis is a basic researched manual. To the general person that is involved in this culture, it is obvious that it is written with the main club's in mind, not the smaller, unknown clubs. The research is good but out dated by at least 20 years. One example : Avengers MC, are only in W.Va., Ohio and Mich. and never have been in Calif. or ever will be. Possibly to a person that is starting to be interested in this culture could look at this as a source of general information , ( out dated ) . Rating: - Outdated, poorly presented and bad intelligenceThis manual was a waste of money and time, it was put together by some Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigator who must have slept through the lecture's he attended. This manual was sold by Paladin Press for years, it's not worthy of being carried by a reputible company like Amazon. Rating: - It's an old class lecture with a book cover on it.I liked the book.I especially like that it was put together as an instrutor's lecture outline first then a cover was slapped on it to make it a book. But my advise to anyone who is even concidering investigating a motorcycle club or gang is to leave it to the professionals.Do not buy this book, read the investigation techniques in the back, get"hip" on some terminology used, buy some leathers and think they won't figure you out. They will, and you my friend, are in some deep do-do.One more thing, there are more than six outlaw bike clubs in Illinois, try around sixty, and it didn't even mention a well established Hell's Angles in Chicago. So if it's off that much just think how bad you can get hurt if you use the book as a tool.I do think that the book is great for anyone interested in outlaw bike groups and would like to have some feel for what their about but used any further than that would most likely be a big "no-no". Rating: - Pretentious, Outdated, A one-sided view of Outlaw M/C'sClass: Semi-Fiction This book is a posthumorous look at M/C's written from an (LEO type)perspective. The book is used as a training tool for law enforcement types (especially those in Rural Departments with low training budgets). The book perpetutates rumors and myths associated with M/C clubs. The material presented is: Extremely Outdated Highly Circumstantial Unsubstantiated by fact Clearly One-sided If you live the M/C lifestyle or just want to read a fairly good piece of sensationalized fiction, you will enjoy the humor and laugh out loud at the some of the most preposterous suppositions ever concocted about the M/C Lifestyle. I would recommend that if you want an educated, documented and real world look at the M/C lifestyle you read --- The Rebels : A Brotherhood of Outlaw Bikers; Daniel R. Wolf Daniel R. Wolf is a social anthropologist that has applied the rigors of research to bring about a truer represention of the 1 percent side of the M/C community. Daniel Wolf lived the lifestyle, survived the discrimination, and went on to write a relatively accurate portrayal of a "1 percent" M/C. The Rebels is a great book on the 1 Percent M/C topic. Rating: - An informative look at biker terminology and lifestyle. This 43 page publication provides a good look at the terminology and lifestyle of outlaw motorcycle gangs. The book appears to be a training manual used to train law enforcement personnel, and it even includes a chapter at the end of the text on "investigative techniques." Other chapters include organizational structure of outlaw motorcycle gangs, their basic philosophies, money-making endeavors, their intelligence network, and even a chapter on the renowned "motorcycle mama." Not too much action in this text, but it definitely provides some good insight into the world of the hardcore biker.
