![]() Rating: - So easy to understand, yet so detailed at the same time...Having pursued First Aid as a hobby for many years, I felt as though I wanted to "move on".I admired the EMTs with my local ambulance service, and I wanted to know exactly just how they got that damn good!So...I bought Emergency Care 9th edition. What a book!My interest was rekindled in emergency care-my local EMTs were using the 6th edition, which was good, but the 9th edition is far superior. The book starts each chapter by assuming that you have no previous knowledge of the subject-this way you can really learn.Hints and tips are contained in boxes, as are Paediatric notes-highlighting the differences between adult and child care. Each chapter ends with a brief summary-even if these are all you read, it is well worth the purchase! Also included at the end of each chapter are Street Scenes - hypothetical situations that you must deal with using the info you've just learned. The CD also provides interactive street scenes-a great addition. Overall, my standard has improved tenfold, I am more confident in my knowledge, and it's the kind of book you never stop reading!A must for all regular First Aiders, or EMT hopefuls.5/5 definetely.
