![]() Rating: - High quality handbook with lots of usefull informationSaltwater flyfishing becomes increasingly poular in Europe. This book provides plenty of usefull information about the most important sea fish for flyfishing. Rating: - undoubtedly the definative work on this subject to dateYour kids are on the beach. Your wife has gone shopping for antiques. You would rather be in the hills after trout but as "holiday taxi driver" you are waiting and idly watching the Mullet in the harbour and wondering if they'd take a fly. You might not know it but you are on the verge of a revelation. A kind of "Road to Damascus" experience. You only need a "Bible" to answer your many questions. Saltwater Flyfishing (Britain and Northern Europe) is that "Bible". (St.) Paul Morgan has drawn together a band of piscatorial gnostics and produced the book which literally opens up uncharted water. Simply presented, with a traditional feel, it is written by enthusiastic fishermen only too willing to share their knowledge and experience. Each contributor is given his own chapter. Their differing styles and the variety of their saltwater aproaches produces an easy and informative package. The format makes for excellent bedside reading as no section is too long or too dry to leave unfinished before lights out. Just dipping into it made me want to give their methods and favoured locations a try. It is undoubtedly the definative work on this subject to date and will inevitably maintain this position by virtue of its comprehensive content and thoroughness. I have personally dabbled with this growing form of flyfishing but found myself daunted by a seemingly uniform ocean, not knowing how to apply a system to my fishing. This book has renewed my efforts and produced results. I heartily recommend it. Martin Booth is an angler, a writer and a photographer. Having cut his teeth on stillwater rainbows he is currently preoccupied with fishing the fly for wild fish of all kinds. He has fished in many European countries as well as Greenland and North America. His published work is distributed throughout Europe and North America.
