![]() Rating: - Step-By-Step Guide To Taking Control Of Your Finances. It's So Simple, Anyone Can Do It!The Money Gym Wealth Building Workout is perfect for those just starting out on their wealth creation journey or for anyone looking to learn more about money and take control of their finances. It's set out so that you can read one section per day for 90 days - so it never becomes overwhelming. Nicola gives specific actions to take and lots of ideas for building your personal wealth - starting immediately. It's great to have someone talking about finances relevant to the UK rather than all the books that have come out of the US (good as some of them are). Nicola not only helps you to get comfortable about money; she helps you take control and plan for financial freedom and retirement. She'll take you through the basics of cashflow; savings versus investment; and compounding right through to learning how to invest in property or the stockmarket or making money from the internet. Nicola sets out what she calls a "bold promise" on page 8: "If you follow the Money Gym book step by step, if you do the exercises included, if you read the books recommended and then TAKE ACTION, within 90 days you will have dramatically improved the way you think about money, interact with money, and feel about money forever." She goes further: "If you do all this, you will also find that you will start to make more money, keep more money, make money while you sleep and make your existing money work for you. You will feel more confident about the decisions you make and feel so much happier about your financial future than you ever have before." She says she can make this promise because it happened to her and to her clients! To all the naysayers out there, including "Get rich quick fantasy", I'd say this book isn't for you. To change your life, you need to do things differently. You can't carry on doing everything you've always done and expect to get a different result. This book does require action. If you just read it and don't do the exercises or follow through on the recommendations, how can you expect your financial situation to change?! I'm still working my way through the book and it's having a significant effect on how I think about money. I've had many insights but most importantly for me, it's helping me to get more financially organised, one step at a time. This means I have a better idea of where I'm going and am excited about achieving my goals. By the end of the 90 days, I know that my financial intelligence will have increased and I will be well on my way to achieving financial freedom. Nicola's chatty, friendly style makes it easy to read and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. I'll be back to update when I've reached the end of the 90 days! Watch this space... Rating: - Get rich quick fantasyThis is what you might call peddling the obvious and selling fantasy, although it is done in a chatty amusing way and Nicola sounds fun. It's the usual get rich quick, don't need to do much, what is called a passive investment. If you've got money to burn maybe go along with it but if you haven't beware! The people who will get your money are mortgage companies, estate agents, solicitors, Nicola and the Chancellor (and goodness knows what he will do with it). If you can throw money at property managers it could be passive but if not think of tenant voids and the fact that house prices may well do a bit of a correction and actually fall! Rating: - A Real Workout for your Financial MusclesLike any muscle that doesn't get used, the financial muscles tend to atrophy (and that's if they were even developed in the first place). This book is just like working those muscles in a gym because it starts at a level everything needs to address and develops, step-by-step, into a real workout that gets you to get your finances in shape, gets you to sort out a plan for financial freedom now, gets you to sort out a future plan for retirement and trains you to feel comfortable with all the processes around money whilst doing so. It's accessible to all, written in an informal tone, yet offers many new ways of thinking around finance. I've read many, many financial training books and would highly recommend this as a must any collection. Rating: - Exciting Yet Pain-Free Workout for your Money Muscleswhen I picked up The Money Gym I wasn't expecting it to have a big effect on me. I'm proud to say that I was wrong. No matter what level we're at, financially, this book contains advice - some common sense that we need reminding of and some that will be quite revolutionary for many, insights and very valuable exercises. Like having your own personal (finance) trainer, the book takes you by the hand and gets you doing the exercises that lead to more financial organization, a clearer vision of where you're going and provides several ways to reach your goals. This should be required reading for teens before leaving school unprepared for the real world of financial planning. Nicola writes as she speaks, giving the book an easy, accessible style without airs and graces or any flannel. Finally, a Kiyosaki for Brits (and a female one at that!) but actually valuable principles that transcend geographical borders. Rating: - Wealth Creation Stuff By A Brit!!!This book sets out in solid, straight talking terms lots of absolutely fantastic ideas for building your personal wealth. Rather than present us with yet another new-age, metaphysical, positive-thinking approach to getting rich the author shares the specific things anyone can do to improve their financial position immediately. The book is a mixture of signpost, guide and knowledgable friend. With its extensive links and references it would make a fantastic first book for anyone new to wealth creation but also a sober wake-up-call to all those positive thinkers out there who are still suffering from a negative bank balance!
