![]() Rating: - Easy read with honest insightsI found this book very easy to read and it is possible to dip in and out of it to the parts most relevant to you (although I have to confess to reading it in one sitting). As well as keeping it light hearted and humorous, Imogen has brought an impressive level of honesty to the book offering her own anecdotes and those of her friends which more often than not both reminded me of similar situations and made me wish I had read the book (and learnt the tricks) earlier! Rating: - It's great to be single!Highly entertaining look at the life of a single girl in London. Imogen Lloyd Webber deals with all the ups and downs of singledom in a very light hearted and enjoyable way. I thoroughly enjoyed her hints for coping with the trials and tribulations of boys, parties, friends and parents - all with a smile on her face and her tongue in her cheek. A top read - even if you're not single! Rating: - Don't waste your time and moneyMy girlfriend had a press copy of this (the cheeky minx) and she thought it was pretty disappointing. I read a few chapters and I thought it was dire. 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back, so I'm writing this to help others from wasting their time too. Rating: - A fascinating read, full of charm and wittily writtenI'm really glad I bought it. Would love to read feedback by a single woman, but from a man's perspective, it's an intriguing insight, and more besides. Not being female, some of the references went totally over my head, and I guess I found it a little harder to tell when Imogen was writing tongue-in-nib. Without wishing to give away Imogen's secrets, among her advice and proposals are such ideas as the employment of your own personal version of Wilde's 'Bunbury' character to give you excuses, making sure you have your exit strategy set up before attending a function, and creating a Conversation List to ensure you know what to say at, and how to get the maximum out of, any given event. Many of the suggestions are easily applicable to single men as well as single women, and excellent ideas all; though at a party two nights ago I accidentally used my Shopping List instead of the Conversation List, and ended up leaving with half a dozen eggs, two pints of full fat milk and a jumbo pack of toilet rolls. Rating: - Light hearted funImogen's book is a very enjoyable and light hearted look at the life of a single girl. It's full of fun tips for coping with family life and is a pleasure to read Try searching the Internet for "The Single Girl's Guide" or Ebay for "The Single Girl's Guide".
