Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk Review: Successfully running a business can often seem like an uphill struggle for many small companies. Perhaps one of the biggest problems many businesses encounter is keeping accurate and up-to-date accounts to keep the bank manager and Inland Revenue happy. As anyone who has ever tried to keep books balanced will know, this is often a very frustrating and highly complex job. Sageline 50 is a program that aims to take some of the pain out of this very important task, and the ever-reliable in easy steps series are on hand to guide you through the basics of the software. Beginning with the basics, the book eases the reader gently through the features of the program. Useful information such as how to deal with international currency transactions, including the Euro, and how to set up drafts and ledgers is precise and well presented. Management of different types of accounts is fully explained and the author has even thrown in a few tips that can be used in the real world when dealing with figures. The book continues to uphold the excellent standards of quality, presentation and value for money that have become synonomous with the "In Easy Steps" series. Another quality title and recommended reading for all users of the software. --Andy Russell Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Not as good as i expected it to beI hate being negative, but if your thinking of buying this book, to understand Sage Line 50 much better, i would strongly advise against it. The book isn't progressive and is really really jumpy and you'll loose your bearings on what you've learnt. The author gives little hints or tips, but the majority of them don't work. I recently went to a Sage Line 50's 3 day course for beginners, intermediates and advanced - and even the tutor there recommended against it. The title of the book says 'in easy steps' i think they should have called it 'in large jumps'. Rating: - Excellent reference bookExcellent book which I regularly use for reference. There are lots of tips even though some of them are tucked away. It is very easy to use too. Rating: - Not that greatThis book is 3 stars, it is a reasonable read but a bit to basic for users who have just started out using Sage, the book jumps around a bit too much and doesn't follow any real order. If you are buying just one book this is not for you, if you are buying 2 books on Line 50 get it. Rating: - Great book for beginnersThis is a great book for beginners. In concise language, easy to follow layout and in easy steps, this book explains all that's important for everyday use - and more! It flags those things you should try to remember; warns you away from potential dangers; and spices up learning with useful titbits. It is designed to save you time and it is gives you value for money. Rating: - Excellent for the computer beginnerI actually teach Sage Line 50 and recommend this book to my students as it gives them clear and concise instructions to compliment the tuition they are given within the college. Even the most nervous student finds this book a bonus as it gives them the confidence to try different tasks without worry.
