It's really easy to read, very clear on how to steer clear of cowboy builders and even where you can get a contract for working with tradesmen - for free! Whether it is complicated issues such as planning or building regulations to how to paint over different surfaces, this book has it all. Rating:  - SAMAvoid this book like the plague - spend your money on vitually anything else instead. It is so 'dumbed down' it contains virtually no detail on anything. It's really just a cursory list of things you'll have to consider but with no specific guidance or information. Think of it like paying somebody to spend an evening writing your own long 'To Do' list. There are lots of books filled with more useful info, like the Housebuilders Bible, or books on extensions, planning / building regs explaied etc. Any of these will give more specifics and many contain good costed examples and unit rates or specifics on building regs and planning law etc.  Try searching the Internet for "Develop Your Property: A Complete Guide to Managing, Building and Funding Home Extensions ("Which?"
