 Rating:  - Homebuyer ReviewThis book is an excellent guide for first time buyers and non first timers alike.It contains the sort of information that can be easily understood by all and enable everybody to think about how to save money on home purchases.The examples used show how the principles therein have actually saved real people large sums of money and the majority could benefit with this sort of advice.In todays low interest economy it explores well how money can be saved by simple remortgaging or negotiating a better deal.The section on financial advisors and contact numbers is an excellent reference source.Read it and you will see "Buying a home can be done with better value for your money!" Rating:  - Repetitive yet unhelpful.First of all, the title is misleading. I was expecting to find out tips and tricks to getting a house for a lower (HALF) price. Instead, this book focuses on a few main points. 1)Buy cheap houses which need work doing 2) Negotiate to get your buying costs down and well, be prepared to settle for less than you really want. How the author managed to stretch these points out over so many chapters is beyond me. After reading the first two, I realised that each section just repeats the above principles to you in different ways. Using these tips, there is NO way you'll ever get your home at HALF the price. This book should be titled, a few short tips to help you save money when buying a cheap house in a poor area. Do yourself a favour, buy a property guide and get yourself a good Independant Financial Advisor instead. That will save you much more money.
