![]() Rating: - Not essential I wasn't sure about this book, but after reading so many good things about it I decided give it a go. It is for sure a beautifully presented book. The design and photos are very appealing. It brings the e-crafters out of the computer ;). It is interesting, to give you some inspiration and tips. In my opinion it doesn't gives us more then we could get from a bit of Google search. I was very pleased to find there, one of my favorite crafters: Hillary Lang. Rating: - Inspirational, Interesting, Enlightening.I LOVED this book. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for a bit of inspiration but didn't want a standard project book. Each craftsperson describes their inspiration, creative processes and workspaces. It is beautifully photographed and I have saved all the featured blogs and browse them frequently. You will visit this book again and again. Rating: - DisappointingI bought this book on the strength of these reviews. However I have found it very uninspiring. The people chosen have very little to say that is unique or interesting and they are all very samey. I don't want to make any of the featured projects and picures of other "craft" pieces are so downright ugly or crass you wonder what the point is. If you're going to invest your time effort and money into making something surely you want an end result to be proud of? Many of these items show little skill or imaginative flair and it didn't much inspire me. I've checked out the blogs and many are even worse than the book. I found one good blog with decent pictures and a high level of skill and she happened to be English, however she spoilt her blog a bit by swearing. Overall a pointless book to add to my collection. Rating: - WonderfulThis collection of craft bloggers each talk about why they craft & have contributed a project each. A wonderful read. Very inspirational. Lots of eye candy, you won't want to put it down. Rating: - inspirational!I bought this book only 3 days ago, and have read it from cover to cover already, and lost half a nights sleep thinking about my own crafting inspirations, and a full day re-organising my own workspace. It is like reading about one version of myself after another - and while the projects are more like sugestions, and there is just one from each crafter, these aren't the point of the book, it is so much more than a project book, and has really inspired me to take more seriously the things that make me truely happy. brilliant! (I may even venture online to the bloggs...) Try searching the Internet for "The Crafter's Companion" or Ebay for "The Crafter's Companion".
