![]() Rating: - Well written... but shortTop book, very well written and you can't help but enjoy reading it, he has a nice perspective on things and it is nice to read about the relaxed Ibiza way of life. My only criticism is this book is that it is quite short so you won't get much of a read out of it! Rating: - More Wild Thymes Please! This is a jewel of a book! Recollections of a time, long ago, but not so long ago, that may barely exist now. I laughed, I sniffled. I could smell the thyme, taste the wine, met the characters, felt the atmosphere and soaked it all up. I sincerely hope Stewart Andersen produces another 'chapter' very soon. And I'd have loved to have met Adelfa! Thanks Rating: - Suzy PlacetThis book is like an exquisite box of chocolates with the one difference being that ALL the centers are delicious. If you've lived in the Mediterranean during the 60's it will open a floodgate of memories when money didn't count and hearts were big and generous; if you haven't had that privilege then you'll just have to believe it because it WAS like that. Mr. Andersen has painted a masterpiece here using just the right colours and tones to a point that you can actually smell the wild thyme. He can make you laugh and cry but most of all he makes you feel good. Amongst other fabulous anecdotes his description of a voyage across Spain with his lovely horse is enough for another book and I personally can't wait for a second Stewart Andersen to arrive on the shelves. If you want to double your pleasure this Summer - take it on holiday with you - it's pure sunshine! Rating: - I Love Animals: So Does the Author. A book which gives a fascinating insight into the 60,s, a period of caring and nurturing as evidenced by the authors love of people, animals, food and booze. A must read for this summer even if you cant make it to Ibiza. Rating: - Laugh, cry, want a ticketNot a holiday rep in sight... Stewart Andersen's life in Ibiza isn't remarkable in itself, but his wonderfully observed account of people, places and pets lets you meander through a lost world. From the fat priest on the ship out to the island to bemused bus drivers - one with his busload of tiddly tourists is enrolled in dead of night to help Stewart's dozy horse out of a ditch - you get to know them all. Laugh aloud, cry with a smile on your face, smell the food, feel the sun on your skin. Enjoy a place that tolerates daft bureaucracy and a very relaxed timetable, keeps doors unlocked and a warm welcome always ready. Open a bottle of wine and enjoy an Englishman's transformation into an honorary Ibicenco. Try searching the Internet for "Wild Thyme in Ibiza" or Ebay for "Wild Thyme in Ibiza".
