![]() Rating: - VERY GOOD...............but maybe for only reference????A VERY good book...........if you are a begginner in Manga. This covers all the basics on drawing manga PEOPLE, yet you MAY only find this book very usefull to you if you don't know the basics, otherwise you are probably going to take one look at it and say, 'Hey wait I already know this, dammit!' BUT A fair few people I know use this as a REFERENCE book, and they have been drawing manga for afew years, yet still find a use for this book. All in all, I would say, a must have for begginners, and a good buy for anyone else with spare change Rating: - This book is for beginnersI have now been drawing manga and anime characters for close to two years, this was the first book I bought and I am self-tought from it. If you already know the basics of drawing then this is not the book for you, it is for beginners only. I have studied a large number of other sources since this book including many popular series in order to gain my own style. This book will not let you create your own style, it merely shows you how it should be done. If you really want to learn to draw manga and anime then I would definetly recommend this book and others from the series. If you already know what you are doing or are only interested in drawing certain characters I suggest you look elsewhere. Rating: - its okThe first few pages of this book depict the every day life of a manga artist *just told in a more quirkier way hah* which is a nice, then it goes on for a few pages about the wide selection of tools used to create manga, such as the pens, ink, rulers blahblah. Then finally half way though the book you get to chapter 1 which is drawing the face. This shows you the different angles and such and where the eyes should be placed and mouth ect, then it shows hair and how it should movein motion, then the body which shows a handful of poses. Then it goes on to talk about the folds in clothing, perspective and shading. Then for the last few pages talks about different character types such as wild types, out going people and shows u face expressions and so on. For the last few pages the book talks about how to basically create a manga story, and how a story works/doesn't work and shows how to create dynamic effects to heighten a characters expression. I give this book 4 stars. Over all it's a good book but not for a begging manga artist, but for one wanting to improve. That and it didn't really show u as many techniques as it thought it would. Still a nice addition to the collection ^-^ Rating: - FantasticThis book is brilliant, I bought this one and the Couples one (Volume 28 I think) and it is so helpful! It is layed out really well and is better then most drawing books because it actually explains WHY the clotrhes move that way, why the body is drawn that way. It is a very good refrence and will give you good techniques in starting Manga. I would not reccomend drawing (unless you are one of those incredibly lucky peopel who don't need books becuase they are naturally talented) without this book. It teaches you to draw the rigth way and gets you into good habits that will help you. This is not a waste of money, this book will aid you throughout your drawing life =P it will act as a good reference book and be liek your bible for manga people =) One warning if you are going to buy this book and learn how to draw anime: do not follow this book line by line, word by word, as it is a good REFERENCE book and is trying to help you develop a style OF YOUR OWN! Enjoy! xoxoxoxo Rating: - Great book.... but watch out...This is a great book, you'll learn the basics of drawing a manga caracter. But... and there's allways one, it will not turn you into a pro, not even close, you will however learn (and well) all the basic stuff. This book will let you go all the way since choosing the right equipment, to drawing heads, the basic body, structure of body, simple face expressions, passing to simple tone application, normal mistakes, recurring problems, etc... A really good book for beguinners and medium artists. BUY IT!!!!
