 Rating: - Good quality, well designed and at a reasonable priceBought one of these recently for stripping several layers of thick old paint from a staircase and it has performed the task flawlessly and proved to be a real labour saver. I was originally considering one of the blue bosch professional sanders, but couldn't justify the extra cost just for occasional DIY use. Its also worth mentioning that as a DIY user, (as opposed to a trade user), the warranty on the Bosch blue professional range of tools is actually only 2 years (read the small print). This is the same as the green Bosch tool warranty that comes with this sander. The dust collector on this unit works quite well, but I would have liked to see a vaccuum extractor adapter included (its an accessory that costs less than 2 quid from Bosch). If just using the built in collector you will still generate a bit of dust and it fills up quickly. Over the years I have tried buying the cheaper DIY shed own brand tools on cost grounds, but have come to the conclusion that its a false economy unless you only plan to use them for a single job. Bosch guarantee to offer spares for all models for at least 10 years and the dealer and spares availability seems excellent. This is the 4th or 5th Bosch power tool I have owned and each one has been well designed and very reliable. If you are looking for a belt sander I would have no hesitation in recommending this one.
