Firstly, there is the charge time - hours and hours for a few minutes strimming. We seemed to have the charger on permanently. Also, the sustained power you get out of these things is nothing compared to the mains version. In the end we took it back and go a mains run device. The cord is less of a hinderance as it is on your standard lawnmower, and a strimmer probably isn't strong enough to cut through it anyway. If you have a choice, just buy a long extension cable and save yourself some time and hassle.
