![]() Rating: - GreatI have had this machine for almost 2 years now and I can say I have never had a problem with this machine. it warms the coffee up just enough, not too hot to spoil the taste but not to cold either like some machines I have used. I have also recently purchased a Gaggia baby expresso maker in the hope it would produce coffee like the shops, but as of yet it hasnt. (think its probably my fault though, its quite tricky to use) But I am starting to think i should have stuck with the Krupps machine as it produces better tasting coffee. and kept the £300 I spent on the Gaggia on somthing else It doenst drip when you take the jug out to pour a cup of coffee, and using paper filters is much easier than the built in filters. The only think I can say is wrong is that on the box it says it has a buzzer that sounds when the coffee has finished, I havent got one, not that thats a problem i gues. Rating: - Bad machine...I purchased this machine on Aug 7, 2008 and it stopped working on Dec 6, 2008 - 4 short months - other than that a decent coffee maker - but the life span is very BAD! Rating: - Not quiteWhen I bought this item I was immediately impressed with build quality and design. I have been using it on a regular basis for a couple of weeks and my first impression has deteriated. The coffee it supplies is weak, even on the 1-3 cup "strong" setting. Please note I am using freshly ground coffee. The keep warm plate does keep it warm but the coffee is only warm from brew so to get a hot coffee you will have to stick it in the microwave to finish it off. I did try putting very warm water in but this made no difference. Summary: Good points: Easy to clean, paper filter Bad points: Warm weak coffee My advice, buy a more expensive model so to not fill the landfill.... Rating: - Loves itI love this machine - I can't fault it. I deliberately sought out a non-permanent filter machine because using the paper filters is better for cholesterol levels. I've never seen the point in timers and wot-not - this has all you need to make a lovely jug of coffee. I've had it a couple of weeks and it hasn't dripped once on the hotplate during or after jug removal - nor has the spout dribbled when pouring the coffee into cups. It's very quiet until the end of the water cycle. The water gauge corresponds well to the scale on the jug fairly well as I can see (only used up to four so far). I really really love it. Stylish, well-made, relatively unobtrusive, works perfectly. UPDATE: Now I've used the machine for a few months, I can give a little more realistic feedback: I'm still very pleased with this machine, but it does have a couple of small faults - 1) My machine very occasionally (once every couple of months) gets air bubbles/clogs in the water gauge rendering it inaccurate, but this is easily fixed by filling the water reservoir to max and letting it run through the machine without coffee and it should read as normal for the next use. Future design should work to avoid this. 2) The plastic lid to the reservoir curls up at the sides a few millimetres due to the steam heating it up. This is only an aesthetic (and quality) matter as it in no way effects the functioning of the machine - it just looks a bit odd. Aside from these niggling things, for the price, I'm still very pleased and I'm getting quite attached to it. Rating: - Great machine for coffee loversI've had this coffee maker now for two years and absolutely love it. I don't quite get complaints that it should have a permanent filter or that it keeps your coffee hot indefinately unless you turn it off - these things are quite clear when you buy it so why worry about them? Besides, paper filters make cleaning up after quicker and simple, you just lift them out and pop them in the bin - there's nothing more off-putting than a stained, permanent filter that's had better days - eugh, but that's not a problem here. As for the need of a timer, mmm, you could always use the off-button, and if you forget, it's hardly a nightmare to return home to that unmistakeably lovely aroma and a cup of coffee ready to go. The self-service feature means you can grab a cup when you need it and not worry about dripping coffee whilst the jug's removed - it does tend to give one apologetic drip then stop until you put the jug back. There's an option with this machine to filter the coffee slower, increasing flavour and strength, it also means you can just about squeeze another couple of decent cups of coffee from a serving at the end by adding a touch more water. When it comes down to it though, this coffee maker looks great on your worktop and produces a good cup of coffee, ideal.
