![]() Rating: - Simplicity at its bestPrinters, PCs and a WAP were beginning to outnumber the ports on my router, so I bought a Netgear GS605 to extend the network. It couldn't be easier to setup and install. It was a matter of taking everything out of the box and plugging in the power supply, the link to the router and the network cables to the devices. That's it - no setup disk or passwords, no IP or MAC Addresses to be entered - it does all the mapping itself. And like Jet Set Willy, I went and bought another a few days later to sort out my son's collection of Printers, PCs and a WAP. Rating: - Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged SwitchNice piece of kit. I bought this to compliment my Netgear 100mb wireless router. I can now transfer files between machines 10 times faster. Make sure you have a least Cat 5e cabling though. Rating: - Brilliant itemFirst off, this was alot cheaper than buying it in any of the shops, plus they were all sold out anyway. Secondly this is a fantastic bit of kit. I have a 'plug and play' modem, but with only one ethernet port, which was used for the computer. This router allowed me to have other ethernet ports instead of one. I recently bought an xbox 360 and this was what I needed to play live. There was no special set up required, it was literally 'plug and play'. The best thing is that ive played on my xbox 360 for up to two hours at a time and have had no lag, and great connection speeds. Great considering its connected via a 20m cable! Definitely a must buy for anyone who wants to set up a great network! Rating: - Lets speed things up a littleI bought this much for the same reason one of the other reviews bought theirs "Jet Set". I was looking for a switch 100mbps to connect to a modem/router so that I would have a few more ports and not have to run cable from one end of the building to the other for each device being connceted. So I was kinda looking for a hub-like device but was advised to get a switch as it can manage traffic (or something like that) (can you tell I'm not that technically minded??) Anyway I decided to go for the gigabit (1000mbps) instead, because it wasn't much more (price wise) and it'll do a bit of future proofing. I was considering a NAS with gigabit connection but I'm not sure which one to get (I would be greatful if anyone would have any suggestions?). The only device on the network at the minute which has gigabit nic is a ps3 but i was also thinking of getting PCs upgraded to gigabit. But at the minute there's no point as theirs not a lot of network traffic but maybe in the not to distant future this could change. It's really easy to connect up, just plug all in, green/yellow indicates gigabit connection and orange indicates 10/100mbps connection and it's as simple as that. thanks for reading. Rating: - Does what it says & a decent price tooI needed a 100mbps switch for our network to replace an old 10mbps. Decided to go for this Netgear 10/100/1000 Mbps switch as I was going to get a 1 Gbps NAS as well. Just take it out of the box, plug your cables in and away you go. The port lights light up green if a 1000 Mbps connection is detected and orange for 100 Mbps connections. Ended up buying another a week later as I was impressed with styling, performance and price.
