![]() Rating: - When it came out of the box it was the strangest bag I have ever........The construction of this thing is odd- perhaps too overdesigned- and yet potentially it is a good bag- think of it as a tool tray with canvas sides and some dust protection (but no security!). The Ryobi tools really do need to be segregated because for the most part you will be carrying the individual items without their batteries ( that is the point of a one battery to fit many tools system, isn't it?). Inevitably their contacts could get damaged if they jostle with other tools and this does allow you to slot enough of the little gismos in side by side. Large hard shell cases do waste space- this is an attempt at a combination hard shell and canvas bag. You get a long grey ABS plastic base with two "ends" which fold up like a pair of bookends. You slot the canvas bag over the "bookends" so you have a solid base. You thread the hollow aluminium handle carefully through the canvas outer and the yellow canvas inner (first expression of frustration). You then have to bang in the yellow plastic ends with very stiff plastic lugs onto the aluminium ends. This part needed the tool I call a "bloke" ( two screwdrivers and a few injuries to the hands might have worked- even the "bloke" took several minutes to fight the plastic springiness of the lugs). So you get a bag divided down the middle. The two pockets you see in the illustration are set up with studs, so you have the option of just one long pocket, two pockets or three on each side. There's a couple of zip pockets on the front and you can roll the top down and store it in a dedicated velcroed pocket on the other side. Intriguing and good to carry your stuff around if you repeatedly need several tools for one job (and that spare battery).
