 Rating:  - Quite dreadfulI would warn anyone against buying this product.My particular version is the YB. The idea is good : it takes the Expand-it range of attachments blowers pruners etc.However it is so under-engineered that it it is incapable of withstanding even the very light amount of work that I subject it to. it has had to go back to the shop about 5 times .I have not been able to use it at all this summer .Spares take for ever to arrive .Last week the exhaust dropped off and as the screw has broken off that will have to be extracted.Not recommended. Rating:  - Ryobi Pbc3046Ye Petrol Brush Cutter 30Cc Brilliant machine (and buy it direct from Screwfix and you get free delivery and a pruner for £166, sorry Amazon). Started first time and was easy to assemble, as are all the attachments. I bought the tiller which is simple to use and very effective for light/medium work and the mini hover mower which is great for getting around bushes etc without decapitating your treasured plants. It comes with two strimmer heads and a lethal looking blade for shredding cats if they venture into your garden. The Pruner is great too, prevents the wobbling on a step ladder carrying a chainsaw and flailing at those hard to reach bits of hedge or an arm or leg. All in all this is the business. I do have a McCulloch strimmer which is lighter, flimsier and ineffective, nettles kick sand in its face, but this is in a different league, a robust machine that does what it says on the can. I have tried the smaller bent shaft version and it is not as good at all, lightweight and flimsy, just like the McCulloch really. So unless you want a monster machine that will fell oak trees with one pass this is pretty darn good, versatile, well put together and fantastic value for money. Why only four stars, because the instructions were not as clear as they could be and made life unnecessarily difficult. Not all of us are qualified mechanics and I've still got some bits that don't seem to fit anywhere.
