Editorial Review: Product Description: Assam Tea Press Tea and the British seem to be inseparable in our perception of English culture. When Bodum was asked by the British Tea Council to develop a new way of brewing tea they were rather proud. They set out with the goal to make an innovation in tea drinking, and the Bodum tea-brewing system was born: Boil water... Place your preferred tealeaves in the stainless steel filter... Pour in the hot water... Wait 3-4 min. or to your preferred taste... Press down the plunger... The brewing process has stopped - no need to remove the filter - no mess - no burned fingers, only the true unforgettable and delicious taste of your preferred tea. The classic Assam tea pot with the new stainless steel filter comes in a 1 litre of aromatic delight. Capacity available: 0.5 Litre, 1 Litre , 1.5 LitreAlso avilable: Assam Tea Press with plastic filter. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Not good for one or two cupsSadly, if you want a teapot that will allow you to make just one or two cups of tea for yourself, this teapot is not for you. The press system has a design flaw. It is made in such a way that you need to put no less than a certain amount of water in the teapot for it to reach the tea. If you put less than about two cups of water in there, the waterline sits below the holes in the tea filter, preventing the tea from being in contact with the water and thus not allowing the tea to brew for any length of time. I'm getting a refund. Rating: - It won't change your life, but it works good enough with teaI've never owned a tea pot, and decided to use this with some special teas I bought from specialists, well it works. But the tea gets cold quickly within half an hour, it doesn't seem to insulate very well at all. I guess it isn't designed to though to be fair. And it's laborious and boring cleaning it. Alot of water scrubbing and cleaning product is required, and then you have to be very very gentle not to make scuff marks on the metal parts. Whereas before I just used this victorian looking thing my mum used - tea grapple/strainer thing - much quicker with no cleaning up.
