 Rating: - If you value your sanity, do not buy this machine!I bought this machine a few months ago having had an Alko for years which did me great service. My old one had a metal casing and a spinning blade. Maybe not the safest of designs but it certainly did a very good job. This is what made me invest in a new Alko when my old when gave up the ghost. I wish I hadn't. The plastic casing is not very strong and it arrived in a box made of thin cardboard with no packing at all (in fact I had to send the first one back because the casing was cracked). The instructions for assembling it were not very clear and the wheel plates were almost impossible to put on. The first time I used it I had a mixture of branches and green leafy twigs. Getting the twigs into the slot was very difficult and once they were in they just turned round and round on top of the blade without going through the machine. It took me about two hours to get through a not very big pile of stuff and that was only possible by using a wooden stick to push it through. The second time I used it, it worked for about ten minutes and then ground to a halt and refused to go again. It is now off to be repaired and then I am going to get rid of it.
