I bought this GPS reciever on 25 April 2008 and everytime i've used it since then it constantly drops bluetooth connection with my phone. The unit is fully charged and sometime on my car charger and the bluetooth light just goes off with the green GPS line still flashing. When that happens i have to take the battery out as the power button stop responding. Thats not convinient when you're driving down the motorway. My phone is an HTC Touch using tomtom6 so there are no compatibility issues... Anyone else encountered this?

The Bluetooth GPS receiver that arrived in the box was different to the one displayed. Has a few small problems. On/Off button is easily pressed and Bluetooth connection drops every now and then. I believe this issue is caused by a low battery as the received data stream slows and starts to get corrupted. Reconnecting solves the problem. Accurate position and small unit. I am using the GPS receiver with a SE k750i and free java-based software.

Initially, this seemed to work well, but when used on its first real journey, it continually dropped the signal. This was definately a problem with the GPS unit and not my phone as this works fine with another unit. My problem corresponds with that detailed by another reviewer...

We needed a bluetooth GPS to connect to a laptop running Memory-map Ordnance Survey mapping within the bow/observation cabin of our hotel narrowboat - so that our clients can see exactly where we are, as we cruise. I mention the narrowboat bit because operation from within a glorified 6mm steel box, albeit with windows, has to be a good test of any GPS. We turned the BlueNEXT unit on and it was bluetooth paired with our laptop in only a few moments (with Windows telling us it was using comport 45). We entered 'comport 45' into the memory-map programme and almost instantly the BlueNEXT device was accurately logging our exact location. As an experiment we brought the BlueNEXT device further into the main body of our steel narrowboat - still worked fine. At around £15, this has to be excellent value.

Found this device to be very compact and light with excellent battery life. Connects easily over bluetooth to both PC and PDA and has mainted connection over many hours of use. The unit seems to be very sensitive with GPS lock being maintained even in less than ideal conditions.
Would soundly recommend this unit even at a much higher price than the measly ~£20 being asked.
