![]() Rating: - Brilliant coat hookI bought this coat hook about a month ago, for use on the back of my bedroom door to hang up my coats and scarves instead of having them thrown on the back of a chair. The coat hook was exactly as described in the listing, solid wood (almost maple colour) coat hook. The best thing about this (compared to other coat hooks I researched) is the ability to pull down hooks when you want to use them and flip hooks up when you don't, for a clean finish and to avoid the chance of injury with any pulled down hooks. I agree with the previous review about the wall plugs being a bit flimsy - I had to adjust the position of one of the plugs when fitting them, and it took a lot of elbow grease to pull it out. The top part was also really easy to snap off (as it wouldn't go flush with the door frame). Really easy to install though, all you need is a hammer, drill (drill bit size around 50mm) and a spirit level. It's really strong and secure, I have one knee-length heavy coat, 3 woollen scarves, dressing gown, woollen knee-length cardigan and about 4 hoodies hanging up on this coat hook - it's not even batting an eyelid, and could easily take a lot more. I also saw several of these exact coat hooks being used in the Wagamamas restaurant in Birmingham this week, where they were each holding 5 coats/scarves easily. If it's sturdy and good enough for use in a very popular restaurant, it's good enough for me! :-) Rating: - Coat hook and then someThis is a solid wooden item. The coat hooks are solid metal, smooth and nicely finished, with no rough edges. The hooks are not sprung - you simply pull each hook open from the top, and it flips out to the correct angle. I bought it because I have a tiny hall and didn't want coat hooks poking me in the eye/back. It comes complete with mounting screws and wall plugs, instruction leaflet and fitting template. To install it I used a drill, masonary drill bit, philips screwdriver, sticky tape, hammer, spirit level. It was easy to install and took about 10 minutes. It fits well and seems very secure. It should take 5 heavy coats easily. I'd give it 5 stars but for the fact that the plugs were a bit cheap/brittle and tended to break when tapped with a hammer. That's not really a problem though - just tap them gently. Try searching the Internet for "Flip Coat Hook - Light Wood" or Ebay for "Flip Coat Hook - Light Wood".
