Ive tried many different fixes and drivers but to no avail. Buying a different adapter. Not impressed Rating: - Connecting to channels 12 and 13 in EuropeI bought two refurbished units and one of them wouldn't connect to my wireless network which was set to channel 13. I solved this by going to the advanced driver properties page and changing the "Region code" setting from "Default" to "SKU 3". I was then able to connect to channel 13. This may be useful for anyone who wishes to change their router to the less congested channel 13 in Europe. Rating: - Powerful performance, and trouble-free on XPMy last purchase of a Netgear wi-fi adaptor was not the greatest success; the WPN111 suffered through really poor software which never achieved full XP compatibility. But I've got the DG834N modem/router and am very pleased with that so I was hopeful that this would be a good match. It certainly is; up and running within minutes, with a really quick data transfer rate. Reception is brilliant, and I've no real complaints at all other than that flashing blue light which is going to take a bit of getting used to. I bought a 'refurbished' model and was slightly disappointed that it didn't have the software CD included (even if it would have been somewhat outdated), if wi-fi is your only internet connection it's not necessarily quite so easy to download the software. And the cable had been very tightly bent to store it up inside the device (I don't know if they do that with new ones) leaving some very heavy kinks indeed, I did wonder if the wires would fracture when I straightened it. In the end though it works fine, hassle-free so the above comments feel like mere quibbles. I love it, and I'd definitely get another if I needed one. Rating: - Great adapter, but keep it up to dateI bought this adapter and the Next router some time back. Originally I had issues, like some of the other reviewers, when it came to sound lagging in random intervals. This issue was an known error that has now been corrected by Netgear with their latest adapter driver. I would recommend that anyone using this with the Vista OS should make sure that their router has the latest firmware update and the very latest adapter driver. It is the only way that you will get the full potential out of this item. As a product, the range is amazing and the transfer speeds are beyond what most people are used to on a wireless next. Pretty chuffed I have it, although I did have to wait for Netgear to release a driver for me to use it! Rating: - AMAZINGLY GOOD!!!i was quite cautious when i baught this item (from other reviews) but for the low price i thourght stuff it and would give it a try. i am very very impressed with it up to date. i have installed it on both my xp - desktop computer and my vista - laptop and both run exallent with it. now the fun part... as im sure you will be aware with the usaul wireless-G recivers its a very hit and miss game. you have to angle it right towards the router and can only pick up signel in weird places (e.g. under a bookcase or on the top shelf of a cupboard) and then it will suddenly loose connection. well not this. it doesnt matter if this pick's up 100% or 1% signel, the speed and quality of the connection will remain 5 bars. this is because it doesnt use normal wireless frequencys, netgear have created a new wireless frequency that is as strong in a open space as it is going through brick, metal, concrete etc. and aslong as you have signel it will be just asgood as a wired connection. REALLY YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED!!! the range is amazing aswell. i was only reciving between 6% to 12% connection on my old wireless-G adaptor (as im on the opposite side of the house to the router) with the netgear reciver i am now on 35% to 60%. also this is really good to know... this new frequency system allows a tranphere rate of... 205mbps YES THAT IS CORRECT TWO HUNDRED AND FIVE MEGABITES PER SECOND!!! standard wireless systems only allow up to 11mbps. this is a huge difference for internet and file tranphere between home computers on your home network (please note though for the 205mbps you need the netgear wireless router in conjunction with this reciver). i would highly recomend this to any 1. and i have tested the audio theory whilst connected to the internet and i havnt had the slightest bit of interfereance. i will be buying another 1 for my other computer as this is technology not to be miss out on. try it out, you will understand. low price aswell. in all honnesty this is the neatest gadjet i have come across with its unreal power. many thanks for reading this and im sorry about the spelling misstakes that will be in here. thanks, edd Try searching the Internet for "Netgear Rangemax Next USB 2.0 Adapter" or Ebay for "Netgear Rangemax Next USB 2.0 Adapter".
