 Rating:  - Fantastic value combined coffee machineI've had mine for over three months now, not a hint of any of the problems mentioned in other reviews. I binned my Gaggia because it was just too much hard work and impossible to clean. This machine delivers espresso of equal quality with the advantage of a programeable filter maker. No complaints in the morning when it wakes me up with fresh coffee and all it asks in return is for me to use filtered water and give it an occasional wipe down with a damp cloth! First class product with very solid construction and great compact design. Rating: - AwfulI've had to rewrite my review but unfortunately can't re-rate the item, so the 5 stars I originally gave it should be zero! Worked brilliantly for about 10 days and since then (3 weeks later) haven't been able to make espresso. The water dosen't even touch the brew head - it just pours out of the back of the machine and floods my kitchen. Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!!!! Rating:  - Complete Rubbish!If you manage to find one that isn't faulty then you do get some nice filter and espresso coffee out of it! I've had 2 now, one leaked when making espresso, so sometimes you only got 1/2 a cup (the rest of the water leaked out underneath the machine) the other leaked from the filter coffee water reservoir(the water practically fell out of the bottom!). I've complained to Krups twice now, but will be taking it back for a full refund. I won't taking any more chances with KRUPS! Rating: - Beware - 4 failuresI bought one of these in March. Great coffee but after 2 weeks it stopped delivering water to the brew head so took it back to John Lewis who replaced it. Number two lasted three weeks before developing exactly the same fault. Phoned Krups who diagnosed 'bad batch'. Took it back to John Lewis and got number 3! three weeks later same fault. Now getting ridiculous. Krups again said 'bad batch' and offered to change it. John Lewis offered full refund (I should have taken it) but also hunted through their warehouse and found me number 4 with a different batch number. Call me a fool but I like the design and the coffee produced when it works so tried number 4! Yup two weeks and three days later - no water to brew head -just fills the drip tray from somewhere in the machines innards. This time sense prevailed and I accepted a full refund from John Lewis since clearly not just a 'bad batch problem. Have e-mailed Krups with all information, batch numbers etc and await their comments. Hope they can identify the problem and correct it. In the meantime its cafetiere coffee again! Rating: - Excellent coffee maker for serious coffee drinkers.Can't really add anything to the other reviews other than point out that you do need to clean it to keep it making decent coffee. But that is the same with any coffee maker. Oh, there is one useful thing I can add. When you pour the filter coffee jug, if you lift the lid as you pour then you won't get any drips. I think it has been designed to work with the lid up. If you pour it with the lid down then capillary action kicks in. Lifting the lid is very simple, just use the thumb of your pouring hand. Sorry if this sounds patronising but I can't think of another way of explaining it.
