Carved from a single piece of granite, this pestle and mortar is extremely heavy, and therefore, we would advise that it is left on the worktop where possible (and it looks really nice too!). Available in two sizes, it has been lacquered on the outside for protection.  Rating:  - nothing like it's pictureI received this product on time, however, it looks nothing like its picture - it is a different shape (looks more like an urn with small decorative handles either side) and has a very rough finish as opposed to the smooth granite finish featured in the picture. I can appreciate that as it is hand carved, each item will differ, but feel that the picture is misleading. Rating:  - THE DADDY OF THEKITCHENif u like cooking this is a must. forget all the imitation rubbish in the shops, this is the daddy of them all! u could quite easily pulp a couple of apples in this thing( if thats your want) but honestly its the biz. there is a smaller size, but the smaller the size the more your ingredients jump out everywhere. for a few more pounds you can have this and it will last a lifetime . its the best piece of kitchenware ive bought by far, and bieleve me, as a chef , ive bought it all! by the way it looks absolutely beautiful sitting on your work top  Try searching the Internet for "CKS Large Granite Pestle and Mortar" or Ebay for "CKS Large Granite Pestle and Mortar".
