![]() Rating: - great for onionsI bought this quite some time ago, and really looked forward to the ease of use I had seen demonstrated. Well, the first time I used it, it did not cut through anything. The amount of pressure necessary made me feel I was sure to break it, so just chopped carrots by hand. A few days later I needed something that required the larger dicer and this worked fine on the onions and carrots. You still have to slice the carrots before you put them in, so it is not much of a time saver. What I love is that I can chop up lots of onion, keep it in the provided container and use it within a few days. This really does save time. I found for many things I am just as fast chopping by hand than using this. However it prevents tears with onions, garlic, so it has its uses. Rating: - Make sure you get the proper Genius one. I had always been tempted by one of these by the adverts on tv but wary of spending much on another bit of plastic to take up space in my kitchen. I decided to get one off ebay to try, paid about £7 so figured not much of a risk. When it came it was obviously not a genius one but a cheaper brand which I was expecting for the price but gave it a go and for about 2/3 weeks it was great and I thought I'd got myself a real bargain. Then the blades began to tarnish a bit and finally on the the blades bent on a potato and it was useless. I had had so much fun with it tho and used it so much more than I expected to that when I was at the ideal home show where there was a stall selling the genuine article for £20 I decided it was worth another go. The real deal one is so much better than the ebay knock off. I have had it a year now and use it at least 3/4 times a week on quite hard things like butternut squash and carrots and it's great. The pots it comes with are really useful and it comes into 3 bits to go in the dishwasher. The ebay one used to get food caught on the chopping surface that was hard to dig out but because my real one all comes to bits there is nowhere for food to get caught. I suspect a lot of the bad reviews for nicer dicers come from people who for some reason have ended up with a cheap copy rather then the jml branded one. It comes with a 5 year guarantee so definitely worth the risk I would say if you are tempted by the idea but get it from a reputable dealer. Rating: - Fantastic...I saw all the negative reviews so didn't buy one. Then saw the JML one offer in woolworths... and I have to say its fantastic.... with 2 small children to constantly dice fruit and veg for... not to mention all the pastas and currys I make for which i use for the onions... its great...its hardly ever put away as I use it 2-3 times a day.. i've had mine for 3 months now and had no problem cutting anything... and the blades are fine..My mother in law has one and my sister in law too, and they love it also.. have just bought the mini dicer aswell...Can't paise it enough.. It saves so much time and everything cooks equally as its all diced to the same size.. Rating: - A Good CookI bought the Nicer Dicer few weeks ago and unfortunately the larger cutter does not live up to expectation. I had problem cutting peppers and tomatoes. After using it few times, I bent the blades only by cutting peppers, and on the top of that one blade had fallen out of the blade holder. A good idea, but it does not live up to the advert, I give the So NO Nicer Dicera thumb down Rating: - DreadfulI received my nicer dicer and could not wait to try it,l was worried that l would break it or thought l had no strength so l asked my husband to use the nicer dicer, l was trying to cut up the onions and l couldn't do it so my husband had a go and he had to cut the onion in half first and then pressed down with all his might what a mess. Then he tried a potatoe same as the onion. This was a waste of money and l have asked for a full refund.
