 Rating: - A word of warningBought this camera in November last year. It has been an excellent buy and does everything you would want from a camera of this type. However, mine developed a fault in September(the lens would not come out) and needed a repair. Sony have an excellent service for repairs but you MUST have a proof of purchase or your repair will cost you £30 MORE than a new camera. Luckily I bought mine from Amazon where you can retrace old orders. Saved me over £120 as I could not find my original invoice. Thanks Amazon! Rating:  - Amazing cameraThis is an amazing camera. The image quality is too good. The photos are crisp and have rich and vivid colors. The battery life is good too. In my last trip I could take 400 photos and couple of videos without recharging it even once. I did use it to take pictures in an Air show thats when I realised that it would have been great if I had more optical zoom but digital zoom does its work just fine. To summarize, I would say that this is an amazing camera and does everything as expected and sometimes even better. However I would have loved it even more had it had more optical zoom. Highly recommend it. Rating:  - Poor build!I bought this camera last October and have not used it that often. Halfway through a recent holiday the screen went white - as far as I am concerned for no apparent reason as I had not knocked it or dropped it or done anything untoward. Try telling that to the retailer (john Lewis in my case) who said it had been damaged and told me Sony charge a minimum of £90 plus Vat for a repair. These cameras are not "Fit for Purpose" and Sony are obviously not serious about wanting to repair them, which I think is disgusting in our environmentally aware age. Rating: - Excelent value for money cameraI have had one of these for about a year now and have taken about 3000+ shots in all types of conditions and climates. Overall I am happy with it and think Sony offer good value for money here. Overall my ratings are this: Picture Quality 7/10 good colours and tones but noticeable blurring at the edges of photos Build Quality 7/10 good but not as good as my previous Sony DSC-P93 Battery Life 8/10 very good for the size of battery, Sony are leaders on battery life Functionality 8/10 easy modes to take shots quickly without fuss, night shots without flash are a breeze but require ether a tripod or the use of the 2 or 10 second timer delay Value for money 8/10 overall this is a great camera for £117 which is what I paid. If you want something a bit better I'd recommend a high end Sony or go for a Nikon, Cannon or Panasonic Lumix. Rating: - Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera This camera is awesome- I cannot fault it. It is user friendly and practically ready to use out of the box- I didn't even need to get out the instruction book it's that easy to use! Picture quality is superb and gets even better when you transfer your images onto a pc. I highly rate Sony, they have never failed to impress me so far so if you're looking for a decent digital camera- you've found it!
