 Rating:  - TerribleThis is a horrible, horrible film. The acting is terrible, the storyline is worse. The only performance that makes this worth a peek is that of Bryan Dick (who plays Rafe), but even he can't save a film that is doomed from the very start. The special effects aren't half bad - but Hugh Dancy is just plain annoying as the male lead, and Agnes Bruckner unfortunately couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. Don't bother, folks. Rating:  - Well actedI have not read the book yet, but I enjoyed the film, although for the first ten minutes I did think it was just going to be Buffy with werewolves. Aiden is well written and well acted - he is inept and daft, but with just enough brain and backbone to keep one from wanting to kick him. He runs when he should run - at least when he still has that choice. Some of the plot devices are a wee bit OTT, and although the effects where they change from people to wolves are a bit cheesy in this day of realistic CGI, I do like that fact they used real wolves, and I and my boyfriend thought it was a simple effect done well. Olivier Martinez underplays Gabriel nicely, Hugh Dancy sparkles as usual, and Agnes Bruckner was suitably sullen as the young woman torn between them. It's a nice, easy watch, and worth the fiver I paid for it, lol.I gave it three stars for it not being long and involved enough. I was left wondering, though, what the hell chocolate had to do with the film ! Having read the other reviews here, I get why it's called that.....so I'm going to buy the book..... Rating:  - Excellent FilmNot really as supernatural as UNDERWORLD.More believable even though i guess not if you see what i mean. I liked the way humans became wolfs. Quite an emotional film of a woman trapped in the paradox of being of a WOLF and needing to hunt to survive and basically not wanting to, and be more human. Some good wolf chases.Its sorts of THE LOST BOYS meets UNDERWORLD. A compelling enough storyline i thought,with good acting throughout. Rating: - O....k But Wouldn't Reccomend It This isn't the best film in the world but it does have some aspects that make it a very interesting movie. The transition from human to loup garoe is not the normal way you would expect it and it is not the convential werewolf story with the werewolves not turning into wolfves with the full moon but when they want to. This is also mixed up with a tragic love story between the sworn enimies the loup garous and humans. The ways that make it bad is that it is a very dark film and sometimes the acting seems a little far feched even for a movie like this and there are very little horror aspects to it so if you are a fan of horror it is not really the film for you. Rating: - It was nowhere near as close to the book, but I still enjoyed it.The film was very loosely based on the book (which I love) and although there were many deviations from the book (which I usually hate). I though that the film was okay. The special effects are not particularly impressive and the film itself does not particularly stand out from the crowd, but the film was watchable enough. I think my favourite scene has to be when they're running though the forest and they change into wolves. Although I thought the book was better, I still think the film works despite the fact that they changed the ending completely.
