![]() Rating: - Unprofessional and UselessI purchased this DVD hoping to learn safe and effective techniques for my pregnancy workout. Instead I found a very unprofessional DVD, not much better quality than a home video. Erin talks way too fast, you can barely understand what she says, and the film cuts out the transition between moves. Pregnant women move slower and need to breath! Also, the picture switches constantly from black and white to color, which is very distracting. The entire workout is filmed in her shabby-looking living room, with a coffee table supported by books, and miscellaneous junk lying around. I expect much more from Amazon! Please watch these things before you sell them! Rating: - Excellent DVD for all round toningI have just completed this work out for the first time and really enjoyed the simple yet effective excercises. You don't need special equipment, just a small amount of space and a chair or coffee table to lean on. The focus is on working a wide variety of muscles all over the body. There is good emphasis on squats and lunges - extremely important exercises for pregnant women - but other areas of the body are not neglected and the obliques, triceps and glutes are all included. Erin incorporates some simple pilates exercises for the floor work and some yoga moves (downward dog) for the core. I am of a reasonable fitness level and have attended gyms off and on for years and I found the exercises were strenuous enough for me. For those who have not exercised for a while - don't be put off. You can easily adapt the exercises to suit your level - when the counting speeds up, keep to a steadier pace and gradually speed up over time. I have to agree with other reviewers that Erin is a pleasant host - not to mention a fantastic looking pregnant woman. I was not looking for a work out to do with my husband so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the partner workout, but it looks fun if your partner/husband is so inclined. I highly recommend this video. If done regularly, it will definitely improve the overall tone of your pregnant body and strengthen your muscles. Find some space and a 40 minute free slot and get exercising! Rating: - Excellent workout I was used to going to the gym and found the other two DVDs I bought far too gentle. You'll feel like you've done a proper workout. Erin isn't annoying either. Rating: - Great if you want to increase your activity levels I bought this a few weeks ago - along with a pregnancy yoga dvd. Really pleased with it. I'm fairly active normally - in that I walk alot, climb stairs whenever possible, etc - but I've not been doing any "exercise classes" since before I became pregnant. Really wanted to increase my activity levels in my own time (but not overdo it). This is great for that. It's low impact but it gets the blood flowing. If you have had a higher activity level than me in early pregnancy, then this may not be high enough activity level for you. A previous review suggested not. If I had any complaints, it would be that there is not quite enough stretching at the end. I have lower back and hip issues so have had to supplement it with yoga / additional stretches of my own. Rating: - For already trained womenAlthough I am into yoga for many years this DVD raises your heartbeats for sure. It is mostly like an aerobics class than a usual yoga-related prenatal program with calm and soothing exercises. It is quite vigorous and I wouldn't suggest it to women who had some troubles in the first trimester. Try searching the Internet for "Prenatal Fitness Fix" or Ebay for "Prenatal Fitness Fix".
