Editorial Review: Product Description: These EP-830 in-ear earphones from Creative not only provide spectacular sound, they?re also remarkably comfortable to wear. Their 9 mm neodymium drivers deliver "big" sound with impressive bass! These EP830 earphones come with a travel case that keeps them protected when you're on the move. Plus, they're compatible with all types of MP3 players. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Great Cheap OptionI am really happy with these head phones. I love my BASS, mainly listening to Techno tracks you need it. For the money you can not complain. Rating: - Superior quality soundI have been using the iPod earphone for ages. I recently wanted to get a in-ear earphone so that I can move around the city without having to adjust the earphone over and over again. I love the quality of this Creative earphone. The discount is very good as well. Rating: - Excellent Phones at an excellent priceThese are the finest I have used in a long time. True, the bass is slightly lower than my previous sennheiser CX300's and the equivalent creative offering. The trebles do seem crisper and more realistic. I am no audiophile however but I do like these and I have wide ranging music tastes (Dance to rock to classical!). My only slight criticism is that they do have a standard V configuration on the cord, so they won't pass round the back of the neck comfortably. I personally prefer it when on or the cords is longer than the other, like the sonys all have. Sound quality more than makes up for that! Rating: - Make sure you fit them properly ... then enjoyI have be using the excellent Sennheiser CX300s for over a year now, but wanted a 2nd pair for the office and spotted these. At £9.99 inc. P&P (vs. £17.99 for the Senns) I took a chance. What a good decission. For those familliar with the CX300s or Creative's own (very similar) EP 630s, the 830s are slightly more crisp. The top end is more detailed and the bass, while less 'fat', is better articulated. Sound isolation is excellent (like both the others). Overall I find them slightly less fatiguing than the CX300s. Of course the most important thing with all in-ear is the fit. The seal must be air tight, which initially can feel a little uncomfortable, but stick with it any your patience will be rewarded. Indeed I found the fit gets better after a day or two when the buds get lightly coated with ear wax (eugh!!). The only downside is that physical contact noise is transmitted up the cable into the buds, which can be a bit irritating. I therefore wouldn't recommend these during activity e.g. the gym etc. Overall, these are highly recommended. Great sound insulation and very good sound. Plug into your iPod or PC (try Last FM) and leave the office behind. Rating: - Either my pair were faulty or everyone else is deaf!I bought these pair of earphones based on many reviews I've read online and on Amazon, and can honestly say that I've wasted my money and time. They seemed like a bargain at only £9.99 with what everyone had to say about them, so decided to go for it. The first thing I did was plug them straight into my iPod and listen to a recording I know very well (the CD is titled 'Gaspar Sanz Guitar Music' on Amazon.co.uk - a superbly detailed recording which I highly recommend) - a good way to test out new media. I was flabbergasted!! The accompanying drum had completely disappeared!!! A sound that was much too low for these little earphones to cope with? It appears so. The treble on these aren't that good either and seem quite tinny and distant. The only good thing to say about them is that they are quite comfy. I bought these to replace my pair of the Philips SBCHE590/00 earphones which I had for more than 6 years! If you're serious about your music and listen to a wide variety of sound (including orchestral and instrumental classical, baroque and early music) then don't waste your time with these. I'm going to get the Philips ones again (or the Philips SHE5920 earphones, which are an improved version of the aforementioned ones above) as they sound remarkable, warm and realistic, and would advise anyone to do the same.
