Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good but not great
Tiger Woods 09 is basically a decent all round game. It feels as though you are playing golf. The graphics (for the Wii) are pretty good. You can create your own golfer, jump straight into the game and play as you try to improve your own created player. Where the game does fall down is in the putting. Yes it can be very frustrating, too many people have commented on it for it not to be the case. The constant changing of putter lengths, the continous lipping out or even worse going straight over the hole turning a round of 63 into a 68 can become very annoying, but unfortunately that is just the way it is and yes you can get used to it. All in all a good game that could have, should have been better.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic
This game is absolutely brilliant and I would recommend it to anyone. By far the best Wii game that I have played. Don't understand all the fuss about the putting - it seems fine to me. Some of the earlier negative comments nearly put me off buying this game, but so glad that they didn't.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - The good and the bad
Having played 08 and loved it i eagerly bought 09 and i have mixed feelings about it, if you haven't played 08 then you will probably love this as after you have practised a while and play it is a good game but some decisions baffle me as to why things have changed. They have improved the graphics slightly and the fade draw control is good as is the overview of the shot when you press A it stays on the overview rather than having to keep your finger on A as in 08.
The two biggest irritants are firstly the commentary that is just awful Sam Torrence just sounds bored and enough to send you to sleep the commentaters on 08 were far better.
Then we come to the putting, yes you can get used to it but you are using a power meter and different settings re the length of the putt whereas in 08 it is as near putting on a real green that you can get, you are using your own judgement as to how to read the green and the power to use.
Hopefully in the next edition they will sort these irritants out but i shall hold fire next time before buying and i shall also read a lot of reviews before parting with my hard earned cash.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Fun but be careful!
Got this game on the release date and played for about an hour- great fun. However woke up the next day with the biggest pain in the neck I have ever had. Couldnt sleep for two day and now, five days later, it still hurts. Be careful!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It's better than Tiger 2007, if that helps.
The bad: commentary is irritating, and the metric distances are broken. If you are, say, 210 metres away from the flag and have the 5 wood selected you should be around about OK for distance (and if you preview your shot you will be). However the "distance to flag" shown on the screen will say some nonsense like 170m to flag. The maths has gone wrong there. Also, on the green all putts appear to be level according to the green marker. This is all corrected if you set your options to imperial and use yards, feet and inches. Not only is the maths now correct but it will also tally with what Sam Torrance says in the commentary (200 to go etc...).

OK, the good? Much improved graphics and swing control over 2007 (I never played 2008). More power is generated by a slow steady backswing and holding the club at the top of the backswing for a second or two before unleashing the full swing. You can generate shots of 50-60% by cutting the swing short (rather than slowing the swing down). After a while this becomes very natural.
The mechanics for adding fade and draw are also much better than 2007.
The contentious issue in this release appears to be putting, with many people complaining that it is much worse than 2008. I'd say: experiment. It seems entirely natural to me. The putter length at 100% can be set to 3 feet, 6 feet, 9 feet, 12 feet, 20 feet, 30 feet, 60 feet...and there is a putting metre too which gives you an indication of how hard to hit it and whether or not the putt is uphill or not. You get one putt preview. Use it wisely.

All in all, a great game. spoiled only by some obvious bugs.
