Editorial Review: Product Description: ENJOY THE MASSIVE VARIETY OF AUDIO DAB DIGITAL RADIO. AS WELL AS USB, BLUETOOTH AND SUPPLIED IPOD DOCK. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Very almost Perfect I have had this for a few weeks now. I wont go over the same as the other reviews here, but it sounds great and does exacly as described. It get more DAB stations than my 'Pure Oasis' radio. The bluetooth function is really great. I bought a usb thing for my laptop so now i can play songs/films from that wirelessly through a quality system instead of computer speakers. The timer settings are great too (sleep and alarm). A few gripes: There are buttons and ventilation on top so you cannot put anything on the system. This is actually a bit annoying as it is quite a wide flat thing. The remote is not very good quality and lets the side down. The Display is not that great, which makes it hard to read the scrolling text, partucularly when trying to get a song title. none of the above stopped me from buying another one for my sister. Rating: - Misleading feature listI paid about £200 for this nearly a year ago, with a usb but no ipod dock. The sound is pretty good, though I expected better for the price and wattage. However I have two big issues: 1) the DAB reception here in South London is apparently good, but not good enough for this product. If you set all the presets then turn it off, when you turn it back on it can't find a station so it re-runs the channel search, wiping all the presets. I complained to Sony and they were completely useless, having no solutions at all. Zero customer service. This was very disappointing and has made it pointless paying for a product with presets. 2) The usb socket only seems to work with a Sony mp3 player. Sony should not be allowed to advertise this since one would assume it is universal. Hopefully the ipod dock solves this problem... It's also one of those environmentally unfriendly products that you can't turn off - you can only put it on standby. Appalling in this day and age. Allowing for the above, and if the product is discounted then it's worth having. But I will definitely think twice before buying my next Sony. Rating: - They've done it again!I've recently recieved this a gift from my parents because i'm away at college and, qite frankly this little hi-fi punches well above its weight. It is really very good. The instructions for getting up and running couldn't be easier to follow and the buttons and dials are all set out in a logical and stylish fashion which makes it a breeze to operate. I've got absolutely no problems with any of the functions on the Hi-Fi. The DAB works perfectly (even with the supplied aerial), the music transfer via USB is quick and easy and the bluetooth was quick and painless to set up with my headphones and my WALKMAN. The sound is amazing and even gives my more expensive £600 sony system a run for its money. This Hi-Fi is well worth it's money and i would highly recommend it to anyone! Rating: - On the whole good value for moneyCompact, excellent sound quality, easy to set up. No DAB reception, which was surprising seeing as I'm on the edge of London. I'll try it with a better aerial. Bluetooth works fine, but has a disappointing range - it can't pick up my PC which is in the room directly above it so I relay through my wireless network to a bluetooth laptop in the same room and that works. I think it's probably the limitations of the technology. In order to listen to music on the PC, you have to have Media player, Winamp or something of the kind running, though you can skip, start and stop throw the Sony. Radio is excellent. Rating: - Good quality Micro SystemI replaced by old NAD separates with this small but powerful system and I am not disappointed with the quality. The speaker wires could be longer, and the controls on top of the system are not easy to read if positioned under a shelf. My main concern was the DAB radio reception. The thin piece of white wire supplied is no good at all. I did read an article saying I would need an outdoor aerial to get the best reception costing around another £50. However, we took the metal telescopic aerial we had from the bedroom Roberts DAB radio and tried it on the Sony, and it works perfectly. You can get this right-angled aerial on line for around £3. The IPod works well, but as already mentioned it seems as shame the track details are not displayed. The Bluetooth also works fine, but do use a good Bluetooth. I have an LM and it works well with the Sony. The USB also works well playing files from it. Overall it is a good unit with many features, and of course a CD player. I am glad I did not pay £250 as advertised, and found it on Amazon for £180 Try searching the Internet for "Sony CMT-HX90BTR DAB Micro System With iPod Dock & Integrated Bluetooth" or Ebay for "Sony CMT-HX90BTR DAB Micro System With iPod Dock & Integrated Bluetooth".
