Rating: - Life Saver! Our little bundle of joy was crying, screaming and kicking all day long. We thought he just wasn't normal, that we had done something wrong and bought this book to see if it could help. IT DID! It teaches you to put yourself in tiny toddler shoes and see life through their eyes. After understanding their mind your life will get a lot easier than it was. This book is a must have! Rating: - I'm not mad after all! This is the ONLY book you should ever read about toddler problems. Or rather: parents' problems with toddlers! Dr. Green writes in such a humourous and down-to-earth way, it immediately makes you feel normal again. When in doubt about anything, I always pick up this book and feel immediately reassured. Even with my second toddler, it is still looked at weekly, because no child is the same. His advice is very helpful and it definetely works! I can thoroughly recommend this book to any parent! Rating: - A disappointing follow-upHaving used Dr.Green's other book "Babies" to help me survive the early months of fatherhood, I was hoping this one would prove just as useful in caring for my toddler. Unfortunately it isn't. Whereas the first book provided useful tips and techniques, this one is more conversational/anecdotal in tone - with hardly any practical tips. It's the equivalent of having a coffee and a chat, rather than being given some concrete techniques to try out. Maybe it's because I'm a bloke, but I was looking for some practical solutions more like his earlier book. Rating: - Wonderful!Dr Green's book is packed with fabulous, down to earth advice. Toddlers can drive their parents crazy, but this book helps you negotiate your way through the "Terrible Twos" and beyond. It's easy to read and understand and the advice REALLY works! If I were ever to meet Dr Green I would give him a big kiss as he helped me to enjoy my children and watch them develop into well behaved, happy children. In my opinion, this is the best toddler book ever written! Rating: - How to read your toddlerThis book is definitely the best I have read about bringing up your children. Dr. Green's style is extremely easy to read, fun, confidence-inspiring and the book is full of anecdotes and advice from his years of experience both as a father and paediatrician. You can tell Dr. Green has seen it all. What I found particularly helpful was his advice on how to read your toddler, his analysis of how a toddler thinks and behaves at various stages, what can safely be ignored (making life easier for Mummy and Daddy) and what needs to be addressed and how. I rated this book with 4 stars, however, as occasionally Dr. Green will not give an answer after detailing a problem, saying instead that he has not found a bomb-proof solution yet. Our son is not quite a fully-fledged toddler yet, but having read this book has given my husband and myself the confidence to understand what is going on in his little head and how to live with it.
