Rating:  - Property Ladder - How to make ££££'sThis highly informative, yet completely comprehensive book is really useful for a person such as myself who is planning to embark upon the seemingly daunting challenge of property development. Sarah Beeny, having been there and done that, gives really helpful pointers on how to approach all aspects from starting to finishing a project. Having read this book from cover to cover, I would seriously recommend this book, especially if you have seen the accompanying series on Channel Four as it is great to read the "Where are they now?" sections on each case study, which really highlights the importance of taking Sarah's advice, ignore it at your peril!!! Rating: - Property LadderThis is a very useful guide to use when developing property. Not only does it show what type of property to buy it also offers guidelines on how to develop houses and checklists to refer to. This book is a must for anyone interested in property development. Rating:  - Very basicThis book is clearly intended for the novice, and I mean novice! Whilst it clearly emphasises such good advice as know your market and plan to meet its needs/requirements, it is much more fuzzy on the details. "Set a budget and stick to it" is the mantra, and all well and good this is. However, not much detail is given, and quick 1 page mention here about windows, a paragraph there about plumbing/wiring/central heating assessment and costing isnt really sufficient for people who are clearly going to be contemplating a career change! These are major areas that can trip you up, and yet no real weight is given to them. So overall, I think it does ok with the common sense basics without really telling you anything new, and is too lightweight on the real meat of what you would need to know Rating: - thanks Sarah!I bought this book last weekend and it has inspired me to put my plans into practice. Anybody considering buying their own pad, like me, or buying a place to do up for profit should read it immediately! Rating: - Full of great adviceThis book has been a great help as I have been interested in buying a house and renovating it. This book has helped me decide that I probably do not want to do this at the moment as I think that it would be too difficult for me to fit in around everything else in my life. The author is clear about what your priorities should be as a property developer as she was in the TV series. The advantage this has over the TV series is that it is less voyueristic.and more practical.
