Rating: - Very Good Point and Shoot CameraThe large 3" LCD screen was a influencing factor when choosing this camera. It has proved to be an excellent choice pocket sized camera. Picture quality is superb withot altering any settings. The only down side is the battery/memory card cover which is not as robust as it could be. Rating: - Wow - what a buyDecided to upgrade my Canon Powershot A75, thats only a few years old. This model is much smaller and much easier to carry about (even fits in your pocket with a case) which means that its more likely to get used rather than leaving on the side !! Very easy to use and battery life much better than the 4AA's that the Powershot uses in seconds ! Picture quality is really good and screen size is fantastic to view what you've shot. At this price can't find a fault Rating: - Canon IXUS 75 Digital CameraFor the past year I have been looking for a decent Digital Camera, reading all the reviews etc. I decided just before Christmas to go for the Canon IXUS 75. Firstly, I was surprised to recieve it so quickly, 'Thank you' Amazon for that. Secondly, I was thrilled with the size of the camera and the LCD screen (my previous camera only has a 1" screen!) and also the sturdiness of this camera. Yes, I get a bit confused with the different functions but I will get used to that in time. Meanwhile, I have taken quite a few photos and I am more than pleased with the results. Thank you Amazon for a)the way in which you fully discribe an article you are selling and b) for allowing customers to leave their feedbacks, it certainly helps novices like myself in making the right choices. Happy New Year to you all Rating: - Excelent camera, very compact.I got this to replace my aging IXUS v3, and so far I've been very pleased. Its nice and easy to use, and the pictures quality seems to be excellent. I guess my only negative is that the controls are quite small, but as its a compact camera that seems a petty complaint. I got a 2GB SD card, and with the camera set to 'Superfine' and the second largest image size it tells me I have capacity for 700+ images. That should be far more more than I'll ever need on a single trip/holiday. All in all this is a very good very compact camera that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. Rating: - Far too much fuss and hypeI bought this camera for my wife, having always used Sony cameras in the past. I was persuaded by the professional reviews on various camera websites, as backed up by the rather gushing reviews that have been posted on Amazon. Nonetheless, I was somewhat sceptical about this camera having already received a dud Canon 950IS only a couple of months ago. Straight to the point, I don't believe this model takes good pictures at all, at least not consistently anyway. By "good", I mean a picture that is uniformly sharp across its width, and without any obvious signs of overly aggressive digital compression, or noise reduction smoothing having gone on in the processing. I can only think that the other amateur reviewers on Amazon have only viewed their shots either onscreen in the camera, or perhaps on an occasionally printed page. Viewing the pictures at full size on a PC monitor reveals the apparent flaws of Canon's so-called "razor sharp" picture-taking. It lets itself down particularly on indoors shots, where most cameras are likely to do a lot of their work. Setting the ISO to 100 and hoping for a still subject does help a great deal with picture quality and sharpness, I confess, but then again you try telling a small child to sit still for a photo. If you want an independant view, check out trustedreviews.co.uk where they gave it a 6 out of 10 for image quality. Everything they noted in their review is what we have experienced with our Ixus 75 as well. A quick test of the Canon 75 against my 4-year old Sony V1 reveals that it blows the Canon 75 away for picture quality, definition, and focus. And that's only a 5 megapixel camera, albeit with a slightly larger CCD. And that's the crucial point here. Squeezing more pixels onto smaller chips and expecting the processing to take care of things by lifting the ISO sensitivity, and then by smoothing away the noise is perhaps the biggest consumer electronics "con" of the last 4 years. My next camera purchase is due in early 2008, and the shortlist will be particularly short, and will involve the name "Sony" exclusively.
