![]() Rating: - Confusing and lacks depthI'm really glad I managed to find this book at the library and didn't waste any money on it, because it was a complete disappointment. The way it's written is confusing - it seems to jump about between different perspectives and isn't clear at all. Also it only gives a very superficial overview of some of the problems between adults and teenagers, and I don't actually feel that I got any useful information from it at all - one of the few books that I couldn't be bothered to finish. Rating: - a breath of fresh airThis book is a real help if you have teenagers, and are open minded enough to listen to their point of view. I recommend giving the book to your teens to take a look at as well as reading it yourself. It has some useful insights and lots of explanations and ideas. It's really helped my relationship with my teenager, and my upcoming teenagers too. Rating: - A complete waste of moneyI brought this book because I am a writer and I thought it would give me some interesting insights. However Jellyellie is not your average teenager. She is a homeschooled teenage entrepreneur (hence the book I guess) who doesn't experience the real life and pressures of being teenager. It was obvious from the start how unteenage she is when I read that she was out shopping with her mother buying books. What teenager shops with their mother? What teenager buys books? What teenager would admit to such activities if they accidently fell into a parallel universe where they were doing such things? The book is written very naively and is of no real help in giving insights about teenagers. I would also add that my daughter and her friends spotted this in the house and read some of it. They said it was funny (not in a complementary way) but were annoyed that they were being represented in this way, by someone that was so unlike them. Rating: - Cheethams4It was wonderful to read a book written by a teenager who understands fully what its like being a teenager in the 21st Century. I found it concise, honest and full of good advice for me as a parent of two teenagers who sometimes struggles with the issues that they face. The chapter on sex and drugs I found particularly helpful as these are often subjects that parents of teenagers find difficult to talk about, the advice given here I found invaluable. Thank you Jellyellie for writing this book, I refer to it often and it has become like my own personal 'bible'. Rating: - authentic book from a teenager for parentsHi, I am not a native but I was able to read the book. I really enjoyed the book and I can align myself with all the other 5 star raters!
