Snagging is a hassle but it is the key to good building results

The world can be divided into those who know what snagging is, and the lucky individuals who have never been initiated into the horrors of picking up builders on their mistakes. Master it, or get somebody in to do it for you, and you have found the key to perfect building.

What is it?

Snagging is the art of identifying defects in construction work while you still have your builder or developer over a barrel. It is effectively your last chance to remedy problem areas on their bill, and it can be a stressful period. There are two sorts of snagging: on new homes and on work in existing properties. Obviously it is desirable to get everything right for yourself. It will also be important should you sell, particularly with new homes, or you might find yourself paying for your workmen’s shoddy work.
